WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR

The Guild of photographers is a highly esteemed society with a range of some of the very best photographers as it's members.

Their annual competition is one of the most challenging, as they take your best 24 images from throughout the year, meaning you not only have to show skill, creativity and talent, but also consistency at the highest level over 12 months.

I'm proud to announce that I've been awarded the Wedding Photographer of the Year 2025 as well as being recognised as an International top 5 photographer in the wedding category. This is the second year I've achieved this title, after winning back in 2024 and runner up in 2023. I also achieved my Third Photographers Bar, recognising consistant award winning images throughout a full year.

Hodroyd Hall Wedding Photography That Feels Relaxed

Wedding photography shouldn't feel like a photoshoot that interrupts your day.

The goal is simple: capture genuine moments while allowing you to actually enjoy your wedding.

That means:

Less posing, more real moments

The best photographs often happen naturally:

  • A parent seeing you for the first time
  • Guests laughing during speeches
  • Drinks in the sunshine
  • Quiet moments between the two of you
  • Unplanned reactions and emotional moments

Rather than pulling couples away constantly, a relaxed approach allows the day to unfold naturally.

Hodroyd Hall suits this style perfectly because it offers spaces where moments happen organically.

Beautiful Locations Around Hodroyd Hall for Wedding Photos

Every venue has "photo spots".

Great wedding photography goes further and looks at light, atmosphere and timing.

At Hodroyd Hall, some of the strongest opportunities include:

The Orangery

The Orangery has become one of the venue's most recognisable features thanks to its soft natural light and elegant styling. Wedding photographers love spaces like this because they produce flattering, clean images throughout the day.

Grounds and gardens

Outdoor portraits don't need to take an hour.

A short wander during golden hour often creates some of the most memorable photographs of the day.

Architectural backdrops

Historic buildings naturally add depth and character to images. Stone textures, entrances and period details can create timeless portraits that won't feel trend-driven years later.

Evening atmosphere

As the light changes, venues transform.

Evening celebrations, ambient lighting and first dances often create some of the most energetic images in a wedding gallery.
